Berkeley Pit Viewing Stand

The Berkeley Pit Viewing stand is managed by the Butte Chamber of Commerce. View the Berkeley Pit from a platform on the southwest rim. The viewing stand offers a look at the Berkeley Pit lake and surrounding historic and active mine workings.

Educational Tours

Tours for school groups, government agencies, community organizations, and similar groups are available by appointment. Email info@pitwatch.org to arrange a tour.

  • Tours available March through November; weather permitting.
  • Please notify us at least one week in advance (not required but highly recommended).
  • A donation to the Clark Fork Watershed Education Program is suggested for all tours.
